Important Payment Update for SwissLayer Customers
We are excited to announce a significant improvement to how SwissLayer processes Monero (XMR) payments. Effective immediately, all XMR transactions are now handled exclusively through our self-hosted BTCPay Server infrastructure. This change eliminates third-party payment processors from our Monero payment flow, providing you with the privacy and security that Monero was designed to deliver.
What Has Changed
Previously, customers could pay with Monero through two third-party payment gateways: Cryptomus and Heleket. While these services provided reliable payment processing, they introduced an intermediary into transactions. For a privacy-focused cryptocurrency like Monero, this partially undermined one of its core value propositions.
We have now disabled XMR as a payment option on both Cryptomus and Heleket. Going forward, the only way to pay with Monero at SwissLayer is through our BTCPay Server checkout. This is not a third-party service. This is infrastructure we own and operate internally on our own Swiss servers.
Why This Matters
When you pay with Monero through a third-party processor, that processor sees transaction details and maintains records of your payment. Even though Monero's blockchain provides privacy at the protocol level, the payment gateway becomes a potential point of data collection.
By moving XMR payments to our self-hosted BTCPay Server, we eliminate this concern entirely. Your transaction goes directly from your wallet to ours. No intermediary sees it, logs it, or processes it. This is how private cryptocurrency payments should work.
BTCPay Server is open-source, self-hosted payment processor software trusted by thousands of merchants worldwide. It gives us complete control over the payment infrastructure without relying on external services that could be compromised, shut down, or forced to comply with data requests.
What You Need to Know
For existing customers: If you have previously paid with XMR through Cryptomus or Heleket, those options are no longer available. When making your next payment, simply select BTCPay Server at checkout and choose Monero as your payment method.
For new customers: When you purchase any SwissLayer service and choose to pay with cryptocurrency, select the BTCPay Server option. You will see Monero listed among the available cryptocurrencies.
The checkout experience remains straightforward. You will receive a payment address and QR code. Send your XMR, and once the transaction is confirmed on the Monero network, your order is processed automatically.
Coming Soon: USDT on BTCPay Server
We are not stopping with Monero. In the coming weeks, we will be migrating USDT (Tether) payments to our BTCPay Server infrastructure as well. Specifically, USDT will be available via the TRC-20 network (Tron blockchain), which offers fast confirmation times and low transaction fees.
Once this migration is complete, USDT payments through Cryptomus and Heleket will also be disabled. We will announce the exact date of this transition in advance so customers can plan accordingly.
This move continues our commitment to reducing reliance on third-party payment processors. Where possible, we want direct transactions between you and SwissLayer with no middlemen involved.

SwissLayer continues to offer multiple payment methods to accommodate different preferences:
BTCPay Server (Self-Hosted): Bitcoin (BTC), Monero (XMR), and soon USDT (TRC-20). Direct payments with no third-party involvement.
Cryptomus: Various cryptocurrencies excluding XMR (and soon excluding USDT). Third-party processor for customers who prefer their interface.
Heleket: Various cryptocurrencies excluding XMR (and soon excluding USDT). Alternative third-party processor.
Stripe: Credit and debit cards for customers who prefer traditional payment methods.
